About a cataract
Is it possible to cure a cataract pharmacotherapy (with drops)?
It is impossible, as lenticular opacity is irreversible and occurs as a result of change of structure of a fabric of a crystalline lens.
Why after replacement of a crystalline lens on artificial (IOL) the eye can see badly?
There’ra some reasons for such situation. The most widespread is the presence at the patient of an accompanying pathology of a retina or an optic nerve, that quite often have the elderly patients.
Is it necessary to keep a diet and limit loading after replacement of a crystalline lens?
We recommend to observe the balanced feed; 1-3 months not to sleep on the side of operated eyes, not to work headfirst, not to lift weight, not to sleep the face downwards. And in all to observe recommendations of your attending physician and the surgeon.
Whether the cataract can independently resolve?
It can never resolve, but the overripe cataract can "fail" into vitreous body and there will be a spontaneous treatment from a cataract. But it won’t be a high sight, because will be no replacement of an old lens on new besides the crystalline lens "fallen" inside of an eye can cause complications.
Why is it necessary to measure HIP at turgid to a cataract?
Because there can be an attack of a secondary glaucoma.
How is carried out diagnostics of a cataract?
The cataract reveals at usual ophthalmologic inspection on a slot-hole lamp or at a direct opthtalmoscopy. Regular inspection at the ophthalmologist is everything, that is necessary for detection of a cataract. During diagnostic inspection you will be defined the visual acuity, will be measured intraocular pressure, and you will be dripped eye drops to expand pupils for qualitative survey of all eye structures and an eye grounds if it is accessible to survey. If deep section of an eye cannot be considered because of a muddy crystalline lens, the ultrasonic research will help to make it.
When is it necessary to operate a cataract?
As soon as you have noticed, that sight gradually worsens also it causes discomfort and threatens a high-grade life.
What is the secondary cataract?
The secondary cataract is a turbidity of a back capsule of a crystalline lens. The back capsule of a crystalline lens is necessarily kept in a course of phacoemulsification. The secondary cataract is not consequence of poor lead of operation. Turbidity can appear in the early or late postoperative period (sometimes later some years after carrying out of operation). Thus deterioration of sight is marked, the "fog" before an eye can appear because the secondary cataract can break sight in many respects the same way as also initial.
